Vintage Heddon Dowagiac Vamp Lures
This lure was introduced to anglers as the “Vampire” in 1920. In 1921, the name was changed to simply “Vamp”. The No. 7500 (4-1/2”) Vamp was available in white body/red & green spots, luminous, rainbow, white body/red eyes & tail, bullfrog, green scale, frog scale, yellow perch scale, pike scale, red scale, shiner scale, natural scale, silver scale, and white/silver specs & red head. Several other models were introduced including the No. 7400 (3”) Baby Vamp, No. 7540 (5”) Great Vamp, No. 7550 (5-3/4”) Giant Vamp and the No. 7600 (8”) Musky Vamp.
